About

Welcome to the Theology News Blog - an attempt to provide a 'one-stop shop' for all news stories, podcasts and TV programming related to religion, philosophy and the theory of knowledge (TOK). It grew out of a similar site created for GCSE and A-Level/IB students in students but is now being offered as an open-to-all resource. It will hopefully be of use to any and all with an interest in these subjects. For notification of all updates either follow us by email or on Twitter (@theologynews) by clicking on the links in the right-hand column. For my own theological writing, please follow the link in the right-hand column to my other blog.

Gulnare Free Will Baptist church overturns ban on interracial marriage

The pastor of an eastern Kentucky church whose members had voted to bar mixed-race couples from joining the congregation says that decision has been declared null and void.
Stacy Stepp is pastor of the Gulnare Free Will Baptist church in Pike county.
Stepp told the Associated Press on Sunday that the church body can't pass new bylaws if they run contrary to local, state or national laws. He said the proposal that was approved in a 9-6 vote last week was discriminatory, therefore it couldn't be adopted.
Stepp said about 30 people who attended church services Sunday voted on a new resolution that welcomes "believers into our fellowship regardless of race, creed or color."
